Bartolomé de Torres Naharro (). Dramaturgo y poeta español. Considerado uno de los precursores del teatro español. Nació en Soldado de joven y preso en Argel, acaba introduciéndose en los ambientes eclesiásticos de la curia romana, donde se ordena sacerdote, sirviendo al papa Clemente VII y a Bernardino de Carvajal.

During his administration in Florida, he completed the construction of the Castillo de San Marcos fortress in St. Augustine (San Agustín), the provincial capital.
